Sonya Group's Journey Began in 1960
The Sonya Group’s journey began in 1960 with Chandrakant C. Shah, a ceramic engineer from the USA, who laid the foundation with Ahmedabad Ceramic Industry.
In 1975, Rupesh Shah founded Sonya Insulators, which supplies technical ceramics and insulators to Fortune 500 companies worldwide. Over the decades, the Group diversified into LT insulators, sanitaryware, and exports, driven by resilience, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
In 1999, the third generation joined the business when Rutuja Patel brought global business acumen and a forward-looking perspective to the Group.
In 2013, Rutuja Patel founded Sonya Foods Pvt. Ltd. along with co-founders Rupesh Shah and Janki Shah, marking the Group’s successful entry into the food industry with flavored peanuts and premium nut butters.
From a small ceramic factory to a diversified group exporting to more than 60 countries and employing over 500 people across three advanced manufacturing facilities, the Sonya Group has remained deeply rooted in its core values — quality, innovation, and trust.
Today, Sonya Foods Pvt. Ltd. is recognized as one of India’s leading producers of peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, and flavored peanuts, backed by cutting-edge automation, international certifications, and a passion for growth.
With the fourth generation now joining the business through Anaya Patel, the Sonya Group looks ahead with ambition and optimism, aspiring to reach new heights while preserving the strong family values that have shaped its journey for over six decades.
